I’m a dentist.

Cost, cost, and cost. That’s it. They are by far the best prosthetic solution in virtually every case where a patient is a excellent candidate for them (i.e. excellent health, reasonable hygien practices, excellent bone, etc.).

The only “terrible point” about implants is that not everybody is a excellent candidate for them.

GOOD POINTS: BEST PROSTHESIS AROUND AND ARE VERY STRONG

BAD POINTS: EXPENSIVE, IN THE FRONT AREA THEY CAN MAKE YOUR GUM A BLUISH COLOR BECAUSE THE METAL SHINES THROUGH, YOU MUST NOT BE A SMOKER OR A DIABETIC, YOU MUST HAVE GOOD BONE AROUND THE AREA FOR THE IMPLANT, CAN ONLY BE DONE IN ADULT PATIENTS WHO HAVE STOPPED GROWING
