How Long after surgery should you experience pain from Dental Implants?

I has two implants surgically placed on Thursday, June 25th. I haven’t had to take any other pain medication besides Ibuprofen. Now, the Ibuprofen doesn’t seem to be working and I am in pain. I would reckon the worst pain would have been within 48 hours of the surgery. Has anyone had implants and if so, what was your experience? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Usually the pain gets worse between 48 – 72 hours.

Then it remains terrible for a few days and then goes down.

Much of it is because of the swelling of the tissue; but the pain in the bone can remain for a prolonged period.

Apply a lot of ice and also take pain medication.

Make sure you get in touch with the dentist who placed the implants for antibiotics if the intensity of pain gets worse….which can be an indication of infection.

I am in the process of getting dental implants and, while it still hurts, I hope that with a bridge(fleeting) I can resume sexual activity.

That depends on your gender

You should avoid it. If your fleeting bridge comes out while performing fellatio it would be very embarrassing for you. And not to mention kind of yucky.

What do you reckon? Answer below!
