Hey if you’re getting the two implants for that price I would keep my mouth shut and not say a word about anything! We charge $ 2000 per implant and that doesn’t include the crown or bridge that follows. The dentist will be making an incision in your gums to expose your jaw bone then drilling the house of the implant and screwing the implant in house. You have to realistic here and expect some discomfort with that kind of work. The procedure only takes 30-45 minutes but you will be there longer of course. Your jaw may be sore from being open for a long period of time and of course the area everywhere the implant was placed will also be sore. You will be charitable a course of anti-biotics and pain medication to take with you when you leave. All of the implant patients we have seen in our office all say the same thing…I was sore for a few days but nothing more than I expected. Follow your post-op instructions and take your anti-biotics to preclude infection and you will be fine.

Hi…I had two lower implants 6 days ago. A couple of days ago, it looked like the stitches were starting to poke up…well, now it looks like all of my stiches are coming out and it looks like a huge open ridge lonely my lower gum line. I am so frightened…is this normal for the stitches to come out so soon. Is my gum line supposed to look sealed already or i am supposed to have this ridge running down it. I am scard my implants are not going to work.

After 6 days the stitches have done their job, it is impeccably normal for them to start dissolving (coming out) at this point. Your implant has been screwed into your jaw bone your gum is really just a protective covering right now so no need to worry about your stitches affecting the outcome of the implants. You should have a follow up visit a week to ten days after implant surgery, at this visit the doctor will check your healing and remove any left over stitches. If you are still worried give your doctor a call just to ease your mind but as long as your doing everything you were told and being excellent with your hygiene you should have nothing to worry about.
