Q&A: I was wondering if Medicaid cover cosmetic dental work(crowns, implant)?

I was wondering if Medicaid covering dental work and how long will take to get Medicaid?

Medicaid does take in dental work, tha is deemed neccessary. If u need crowns, etc as chose by a dentist, than they will doubtless take in it.

Its hard in Iowa finding a dentist who will take Meidcaid, I don’t know if other states have more dentists that accept it or not.

Not only will Medicaid not take in cosmetic work, but most confidential insurance companies don’t, either. With the popularity of tooth whitening, everyone and their cousin is looking to get whitening covered by insurance, but just like implants or veneers, it’s generally not covered. This is due in part to the fact that cosmetic surgery is never necessary. (For example- instead of an implant, you could get a bridge or a partial denture).
As for crowns, those are often covered by Medicaid, provided it’s an anterior (front) tooth, and not a molar.
Excellent luck.
