dental implant surgery healing?

dental implant surgery healing?

I had an implant placed today and its been about 14 hours and my gums are still bleeding a bit, is this normal?

Answer by kitty
Depedning on individuals, the bleeding may take some time to stop. However. if it continues to bleed for more than a day. it would be better to check with your dentist on this

bone graft dental implant

i had a permanent canine that was impacted and had to be extracted. in about a year, i get my braces off, and i know people will tell me to smile for them and there’ll be this big gap there. i have good dental and overall hygiene, no health issues. that in mind, how would the process of getting a single dental implant go? my current insurance is medicaid, and i know since this is cosmetic, that they wont cover it, but do they cover even any percentage?

No insurance will cover an implant. You will go to an oral surgeon to have the implant placed in your gums. It looks like a screw if you were to see it on an xray. It has threads like a screw does. The implant can take up to 6 months to heal. After it has healed properly then you will go to see your general dentist and he will unscrew the healing abutment and put in an attachment to take an impression of so he can send it to the lab to have a crown made. Once the crown has come back from the lab then they will cement it on to the attachment and you will have a tooth! Implants are great! You will love the result.
