Sometimes, dentists provide their services pro bono.

Sometimes, dentists grant their services pro bono.

Whether you have fantastic dental insurance, or can’t remember the last time you saw a dentist, here are many dental services available in Ohio that place forward cleanings, fillings, extractions, and implants. For the uninsured, a variety of free clinics can be found in large cities like Cleveland and Cincinnati, smaller cities like Dayton or Akron, and rural towns across the Buckeye state. Knowing how to door free clinics or pro bono services, can help you get the dental care you need.

  1. 1

Check with your dental insurer, if you have one, to see if dental implants are built-in in your complete coverage. Then find a dentist’s office in your area that accepts your dental insurance.

  2. 2

Question your dentist about pro bono services for suitcases of financial hardship. Be prepared to grant documentation, like proof of income, caseworker contact information, or letters of allusion from clergy or employers. Sometimes, private practices will extend pro bono services on a case-by-case basis.

  3. 3

Find a free dental clinic in your area and question if their services include dental implants. Free dental clinics are available across Ohio, but occasionally they have a waiting list, so inquire as early as possible. Other clinics grant emergency dental services only. The Ohio Dental Association links patients with financial hardships with cut-rate-fee or free dental services.

  4. 4

Research dentists who place forward pro bono dental work days, like Afinia Dental’s Pro Bono Day in West Chester, Ohio. Some dentist’s offices will feature annual, or semi-annual events, to grant dental care for low-income residents.
