I’m scared to get a tooth implant but it needs to be done has anyone done this before? Roughly how much does it cost?

According to http://www.mynewsmile.com/dental_implants/dental-implants-cost.htm it can run between $ 2000 and $ 5000 over two visits: the surgery before, and then the placement of the implant.

Look at my avatar. See my smile? I have dental implants and that is my new smile. So yes I can help you. Don’t be afraid of dental implants. Do your homework though and choose a skilled dental professional. I chose a Prosthodontist as my doctor could place the implant and also place the teeth to go over the implants. There are Oral Surgeons and Periodontists that can place them too. Make sure who you choose has placed many successfully. If you do not need bone grafts and the tooth is missing outside of being sore you should have no big issues.

Write me if I can be of further assistance

I have not had one myself, but have assisted in placing alot of them! They really are not as bad as they sound. The cost probably depends on where your at, and what type of dentist you see. Really the best for an implant is a periodontist.

It is 2 1/2 years old and I guess it always has hurt a little and maybe it’s getting a bit worse when I bite directly down on it with anything remotely hard. It’s not excruciating, but uncomfortable enough that I favor it a bit. I don’t have dental insurance and I didn’t really like the guy who put it in. Shoulld I just live with it? Is it normal to hurt a bit? Did he put it too close to the nerve?

Implants can always become sensitive but it has been a long time and should have settled.
Maybe it has a crack somewhere which can hurt and cause the implant to hurt or it may be a little high and need to be reduced down a bit see your local dentist as soon as you can as you shouldnt be in pain
