Dentist help! Part of tooth loose post root canal!?

Dentist help! Part of tooth loose post root canal!?

I just had a root canal 3 days ago on #13. I’ve been treating the abscess beneath the tooth with Amoxicillan for two weeks, now.. but today while intake, the rear-part of the tooth tear and is noticeably baggy; feels as if it may maybe fall out with small effort, so I’m trying to hold the tooth collectively with my tongue and remain as still as possible.
The baggy piece is still ‘hanging’ on to the gum, but. There is some throbbing/swelling, too, and it’s apt more uncomfortable. It’s only Saturday night, and I can’t see my dentist til Monday (or even get him on the phone in the meantime). I’m hoping I don’t lose the tooth altogether. The temporary filling is still intact to the main part of the tooth (my dentist wanted to wait for the infection with the abscess to heal before putting on the crown).
I still have to get through tonight and Sunday. Any advice about home treatment while coming up or… is it too late… will I lose this tooth anyway and need an establish or join?

Your tooth has broke in a vulnerable spot after root canal treatment. If the break has not extended too far below the gum-line, the dentist may be able to salvage it and place a crown on it. Otherwise you may maybe lose the tooth, but a procedure called ‘crown lengthening’ may be performed if the break has not extended too far below the gums.

If the pain is extensive, you need to call your dentist’s emergency line. Otherwise, you can take over-the-counter medications and run to Wal-mart and get “Benzodent” cream that is made for dentures, but you can place on the tooth and may help it.

Excellent luck.

bone graft dental establish

I had an abscess and issues with a front tooth about a year ago and dentist said there was no hollow space or nerve hurt…. didn’t know what caused it. A course of antibiotics cleared the abscess. I go back last month for routine cleaning and I have severe bone loss around that tooth, literally within a year. He referred me to a periodontal specialist who found that I have a break on the top third of the root, way up in the socket. I will have to have the tooth pulled and a dental establish done. I am freaked out because otherwise I have really pretty healthy teeth (and happily no periodontal issues).

How is it possible to have a tooth break way up in the socket? Why would that cause an infection with abscess? Can it have been that way for a long time?

It depends on how the force is transmitted to the tooth and how the bone gives way.
